Wow: There’s A New Favorite to Succeed President Trump and It’s Not VP Vance

My, my, that sure changed fast. There is a new ‘star’ that has become the favorite to follow in President Trump’s footprints, and surprisingly, his name isn’t Vice President JD Vance.

Rather, it’s Secretary of State Marco Rubio, according to the Kalshi betting platform:

It is still too early to predict who will ultimately emerge victorious in the 2028 election, of course. Nevertheless, Rubio’s performance in the Trump administration has been hard to overlook. As secretary of state, he has established himself as a strong defender of the administration, a formidable opponent against the liberal media, and one of the president’s most trusted allies.

Trump, by the way, hasn’t endorsed anyone yet, either

He has even embraced a nickname given to him by the media: the “Secretary of Everything,” which in and of itself is remarkable given that Trump could have been handing off at least some of these assignments to his VP. Rubio has frequently taken on roles beyond that of Secretary of State, including positions such as acting administrator of USAID, acting archivist of the United States, and acting national security adviser early in the second Trump administration. He has leaned into the joke consistently and, on Tuesday, filled in for White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who is currently on maternity leave.

And Vance has said when pressed about his future that he planned to have a conversation about that with the president in February of next year, after the midterms.
