Trump Takes His ‘No Tax On Tips’ Road Show To Vegas, Gets Raucous Welcome

Trump speaking at Las Vegas tax roundtable

On Thursday, President Donald Trump traveled to Las Vegas for a roundtable discussion at the AC Hotel Las Vegas Symphony Park. He focused on promoting his Working Families Tax Cuts and the benefits provided to everyday Americans through the One Big Beautiful Law (OBBL). Nevada’s Democrat representatives, including Senator Jacky Rosen, worked hard to criticize Trump’s tax policy visit and minimize the significance of the tax benefits because Democrats never met a tax cut they liked:

It’s hard for hospitality workers in Las Vegas to be happy about “No Tax On Tips” when they aren’t getting as many tips as they used to.

Donald Trump’s trip today is nothing more than a distraction from the problems Nevadans are facing because of his reckless policies. Nevadans know the truth: he hasn’t done anything to make their lives more affordable.

There are multiple economic issues endemic to Vegas that are completely the fault of Democrats who run the state. And besides, if Rosen and her terrorist party had their way, no wage earner in Vegas who survives on tips would be getting any breaks whatsoever because they all voted against it…out of ‘fairness’ or something.

However, Trump and the “No Tax on Tip” policy seem to be very popular among workers in Las Vegas, as demonstrated by the long line of people outside the hotel before his appearance. According to Reagan Reese, a White House correspondent for the Daily Caller, about 200 people attended the roundtable discussion:

Trump supporters began arriving at the venue hours before the president landed at Harry Reid International Airport Thursday afternoon. Many wore Trump-themed merchandise including shirts and “Make America Great Again” hats.

Hundreds packed the hotel’s ballroom before the president’s caravan arrived. Nevada Republicans, including candidates in the 2026 elections, mingled in the crowd.

The stage’s backdrop was a large “NO TAX ON TIPS” banner.

The crowd erupted as Trump came out to Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the U.S.A. anthem. A “USA” chant broke out at one point.

The roundtable also included Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, local elected officials, and Las Vegas workers who have benefited from the Working Families Tax Cuts policies.

Trump opened the forum by reminding the attendees that Vegas was where he first introduced the “no tax on tips” policy: “This is the birthplace of a little idea known as ‘No Tax on Tips. ‘ This is the birthplace.”

The crowd roared as Trump then told the story:

A young waitress came up to me during dinner, and she said: “Sir, we should have no tax on tips.”

I said, “What? Say it again.”

“We should have no tax on tips.” [she said]

I said, “That’s the greatest thing I’ve ever heard.”

I walked outside to the Fake News Media, I said, “Ladies and gentleman, there will be no tax on tips.”

That was it. It was not an expensive consultant. [Cheers]

Las Vegas is the largest concentration of tipped workers anywhere in the country. Anywhere in the world, actually. And thanks to our tax cuts this week, thousands of Nevada waiters, waitresses, casino dealers, bartenders, bellmen, barbers, caddies — Oh, I love those caddies, they’re very good if you have the right caddy — and valets, receive the biggest tax refunds of their entire lives, and you see it. And I just want to say, “You’re welcome. You’re welcome.”

The stories from actual tipped workers were phenomenal and of course went counter to the BS narratives of ‘the mainstream media’ which has tried every day since tax day to counter Trump’s (and Republicans’) good news on the tax cuts.

Trump also reminded everyone in attendence that not a single Democrat voted to extend such a wonderful break to working families and working Americans (though they lie all the time and tell us they ‘care about’ those folks):

We can never forget that every single radical Left Democrat in Congress voted to deny the American people these life-saving changes. They voted for tax increases, they wanted your tax to go up. I’ve never seen it before, you know all my life, I’ve been sort of always interested in politics. Never did it before, decided to do it a little while ago. Not too long.

But I’ve never seen it before: It always was, I’d watch politicians for 30 years, 40 years: “We will will lower your taxes! We will lower your taxes!” These are the only people, the Democrats now, the modern-day Democrats: “We will raise your taxes!”

And I just don’t think it’s winnable. I don’t know, I’m a little old fashioned, I guess.

No, not “old-fashioned,” just a president who understands the plight of ordinary folks and keeps his promises.
