The Naval Blockade remains in full force and effect. The Hormuz Strait is open and operating. All water mines have been removed or detonated. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
No diplomatic niceties. No “ongoing conversations.” No ambiguity about who controls what. The Strait of Hormuz — through which roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply transits — is open, mine-free, and operating under American control. Iran placed the mines. America removed them. End of story.
CENTCOM updated the operational picture Monday: as of August 17, U.S. forces have redirected 64 commercial vessels, disabled 3, and boarded 2 to enforce the naval blockade. Admiral Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander, just returned from a 10-day Middle East trip and described the Lincoln Carrier Strike Group’s deployment as “one of the most operationally intense and consequential of the modern era.”
That is not diplomatic boilerplate. That is a senior military commander describing combat operations in terms that should be understood clearly: American sailors and airmen are doing something historic, and they know it.

Iran’s new Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaee — former head of the IRGC — has previously suggested using nuclear weapons on America and continues to fantasize publicly about Trump’s death and America’s defeat. Iranian officials have claimed to have assets and assassination teams already positioned inside the United States.
This is who the media’s anti-war contingent wants Trump to negotiate with. This is who four House Republicans sided with Democrats to constrain via war powers resolution. This is who the DSA calls a victim of American imperialism.
The mines are gone. The blockade holds. The strait is open. And the regime whose IRGC commander fantasizes about American defeat is currently watching U.S. Navy helicopters hover over cargo ships enforcing American will in what Tehran used to call its own backyard.
