Another ranking member of the Trump administration has decided to call it quits and will be leaving her post soon.
It comes ahead of what is expected to be a highly contested midterm election cycle.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson said she will be leaving her role in the administration for a position at OnMessage Public Strategies, according to reports on Wednesday.
In making her announcement, she sang the praises of President Donald Trump, calling him “the greatest” of her life.
“President Trump is the greatest President of my lifetime – it’s been a tremendous honor to work for his Administration and alongside such talented colleagues on behalf of the American people,” Jackson wrote on the social platform X.
“Looking forward to this next chapter!” she added.
She joined the White House in May 2025 as deputy press secretary and, in January, special assistant to the president was added to her title.
“Abby Jackson is one of the best communicators in Republican politics, and she’s played an invaluable role on my team, working closely with senior administration officials to shape press coverage, and deliver President Trump’s message at the highest level,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.
“But what truly sets Abby apart is her character,” Leavitt added.
“She’s a workhorse and someone you can always count on to get the job done,” said the press secretary.
White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller called her a “communications powerhouse.”
“She has skillfully spearheaded messaging on many of the Administration’s most critical and celebrated policy initiatives and has earned universal praise and admiration from her peers and colleagues,” Miller said in a statement.
In its own statement, OnMessage Public Strategies confirmed Jackson had been hired and called her a “rock star.”
Before joining the administration, Jackson served as deputy communications director for the Republican National Committee.
She also spent several years working for Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), rising from press secretary to deputy chief of staff and communications director.
Earlier in her career, Jackson worked as deputy press secretary for former Rep. Matt Rosendale of Montana and served as a rapid response specialist for Donald J. Trump for President Inc.
Real Daily Wire first reported that Lauren Bis, assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security, is expected to succeed Jackson in the role, The Hill reported.
“We are very sad to see @abigailmarone go, but look forward to welcoming Lauren to our team,” Leavitt wrote on X. “Lauren has been a key player at DHS since day one and she will fit right in at the White House.”
Leavitt returned to TV last month after spending weeks at home on maternity leave to denounce the agitators who have been hanging out or even participating in the alleged vandalism of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
During an interview on Fox News, Leavitt revealed that authorities have arrested at least five people in connection with the alleged vandalism of the pool.
There have been 14 police reports filed for vandalism, the official added.
Leavitt, who went on maternity leave in late April and gave birth to her daughter in early May, has not returned to her duties in the White House Briefing Room, but she did provide more information on the situation in D.C.
The discussion began when host Sean Hannity detailed President Donald Trump’s plan to restore the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
After the project was completed, algae began to grow in the pool. The Trump administration has accused critics of sabotaging the project.
Activists have been appearing at the Reflecting Pool, with some carrying signs in favor of the algae that has destroyed Trump’s project.
